The overwhelming all encompassing mission of the organization known as the National Hairston Clan, Inc. is to serve and uplift our community through our strength as a family and the strong bond we have maintained throughout history. In order to keep before us at all time this central mission be it hereby known that we the National Hairston Clan, Inc. resolve to:
1) Maintain our family bond and rich heritage of our ancestors through fellowship, recognition of accomplishments, diligent study and research of our family history so it all can be well documented and memorialized as an example to other families throughout the country,
2) Promote the importance of education to better educate all people through our annual award of the John W. Hairston, Jr. Memorial Scholarship,
3) Initiate and participate in community activities that benefit all groups of people to help overcome various financial and health hardships,
4) Teach people how to live healthy lifestyles, establish businesses, manage, finances, learn trades, and prepare individuals to be productive in society,
5) Develop programs to support the youth and the elderly that address current issues in society,
6) Create better harmony between all ethnic groups through religious education and prayer,
7) Support environmental awareness initiatives in order to have the necessary resources to sustain our future generations.
With the above mission in mind, we resolve to endeavor to promote the organization known as the National Hairston Clan, Inc. throughout the United States and the entire World.
